    Oiler question

Got my new PCNC1100 up and running, and I have a simple question about the manual oiler. After pulling the handle out, should the handle return to rest within a few seconds, or should this be a more timed release? The Bijur ones we had on Bridgeports seemed like a slowly metered release, so I am used to that.

On my 1100 it takes 15-20 seconds using Vactra 2.

Thanks for confirming. That seems more reasonable. I likely have air in the system still (its a new mill) or a leak (though I don't have a large puddle on the stand). I pulled it about 10 times, but it must need more for initial priming/filling the system.

depends on the temperature in the shop for us. In the winter morning when the shop is still cold, it takes a little longer. But 15-20 seconds sounds about right. We also use Vactra-2. If it goes quicker you have a leak somewhere. There are dozens of threads here that deal with leaks in the way-oil system.

    Mystery solved....

Well, it certainly helps to know what is in your oiler. My machine shipped with the oiler full of what smells like mineral spirits or turpentine, not way lube.

Once I flushed that out and filled up with Perlube 68, it takes 25-30 seconds for the handle to return, as it should be.

My 1100 took about a minute with Vactra-2 @50*F. Takes less time at room temp.
