    Clausing Storm 80

New to this site but love it already.

Problem: Just bought a used Storm 80. Once powered up and calling up tools they do not match the numbers listed on side of the turret ( no face plate). No big deal just change the offsets and create new tool numbers. After I ran the machine for 2 full days on the third morning 2 parts in the turret indexes to a completely wrong tool number. Have removed the back panel on turret and the encoder isn't loose and the LEDs are functioning when I index. No alarms either. Whats going on?

    well Cletus,
this is a very unique machine you have there. The turrett is powered by 110V 3-phase i have only ever seen this on the storm machines. you need to have very clean power comming into your building and you need to make sure the main transformer is set correctly. you should have a few options on the transformer and try to match it up with what you have comming into the building.

This turrett likes to overheat you need a minimum of 15 seconds between indexes.

check your voltage and let me know what is going on . as far as setting the tool number to match the station i will have to get my notes and get back to you

Am defiantly thinking it is a power supply issue due to the fact after turning the machine off then turning it back on I received these:

    1006 Hydraulic system B Fault
    401 X VRDY, Z VRDY, B VRDY

Just wondering why I was able to run this machine for 2 days straight with out this problem
