Hi all.

I have been running a flat bed cnc lathe the last 8 years. I am switching to a large slant bed next week. The machine is a Leadwell 35 LTC 120".

I'm trying to get a tooling list together but I'm not sure what kind of bars to get. Do most of you run your bars upside down for chip clearance or insert side up? On the flat bed I always went insert side up so the cutting force pushed down on the ways. Is this not an issue with the slant bed? I have heard conflicting opinions on this.

This is my shops first slant bed and I am the lucky one that gets to figure it all out

Thanks in advance for any help.
