how to find the center of an arc given start, end, and radius?

Does anyone know what the formula is for finding the center of an arc when all you know is the start point, end point, and the radius? I know it will lie on the perpendicular bisector between the two points, but don't know how to calculate it.

    thanks for any help!

To find the distance between both points:

Each points must have a X and Y coordinate

    (X1 - X2)^2 +(y2 - Y1)^2

After, you know 3 sides, radius, radius and the chord

    Triangle Calculator Online

In calculator, choose SSS given 3 sides and it will calculate angles.

Now you know 3 sides and 3 angles

    Hope this help.

    Two solutions

With only two points and a radius value known, you will have two solutions of where the center point could be located.
