Talking 4 days on Mazatrol Fusion

    Hay All!

Well 4 days using this monster (Integrex 200SY)and we just faced, turned, drilled, threaded and tapped left & right. Even learned to lie a bit too. Holding .0005".

Mazatrol for small batch turning is fantastic!!!
Really fast, I thought having to program on the control would be slow and hold up jobs- I was very wrong. It took me months to be able to do this right & fast in Gcode.

This machine wants to take cuts in carbon steel at DOC's of .19" - Is it me or is that crazy? I have not let it do more then .05" per pass. Am I being too conservative?

Its been a few years since I ran a mazak lathe but on a qt250 and a sqt250msy running DOC .18 to .22 at 850 sfm .012 in/rev in carbon steel worked very well using wnmg (trigon) inserts. Even deeper and faster in 12L14. Just remember to factor in the workholding.
