    could anyone tell me if there is a place to find a chart that will give me travel speeds and spindle speeds for various types of materials. I realize it maybe different for every machine and will also depend on the cutting bit that is used, but I need a starting piont. Just getting started in this and need info.Thanks

    Just a starting point. Rigidity of machine tool, work holding etc affect these numbers. Use the lower end of the range provided as a starting point.
    These are for HSS and M42 (Cobalt) tools. Chart HSS & Cobalt
    For Carbide try these Chart Carbide

    RPM=SFM x 3.82 / cutter diameter
    Feed in IPM= RPM x chip load x number of flutes
