    Hurco KMB1 info needed

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me the torque rating(in/lb) on the Electro-Craft black/silver motors???? Looking at the Ajax retrofit and need this info to see if it will work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Artty

I don't think so I want to stay closed loop. My kids are schooling me on Linux so I will go that route.

I understood that the loop was closed in the external Ajax DSP processor unit, and the control is Centroid based?
Another external closed loop controller is Dynomotion, more programming but much cheaper.

Al, you are correct. There are some interface issues with the Mach plug in. It works, but not like a real industrial control.

The Dynomotion is another I'm considering. it like the Ajax can use my original servos and drives. but if the torque is within the ajax spec I won't need to use the 30 yr. old boards to drive the motors.

If you have physical dimensions and the DC bus voltage I have several ElectroCraft manuals.
    Also a Pic would help?

    Al,
    Awesome,
I'll get pics today. DC bus voltage is published at 45V but they run higher like 80V
    Thanks,

There is a difference between a power supply of 80v to a drive and 80vdc applied direct to the motor.
80v applied direct will run it at whatever the BEMF/1000 rpm the motor is rated at.
IOW if the motor is rated at 20v/1000 and the max rated rpm is 2000 then 80v would overspeed at 4000rpm.
A PWM drive keeps this in check.

No problem thanks for the attempt.

    Al,
The motors are PN 0703-02-049 and I was able to find this info on them but I don't see the torque spec. I found this on this forum. Can you work from it.
    Regards.
