We just purchased a Hurco VM10 and it didn't come with an oil skimmer.

We purchased an Abanaki Li'l Blue Skimmers Type: Oil Skimmer Volume Capacity: 1 Gal. per Hr. Belt Width: 1 Reach: 12 (We can't use this, No clearance for mounting).

What would be a proper skimmer to use for this Mill?

This machine is lightly used due to it's our first CNC piece of equipment and we only have one machinist capable of setting up and operating it at the moment.

We purchased the Abanaki from this machinist's suggestion because that's what he has at home on his Hurco VM1. Well that's a whole different design compared to our VM10. The way the coolant discharges on our machine we can't pull the tank out to be able to mount the Li'l Blue Belt Skimmer :/

Any suggestions for a proper fitting well working skimmer?

Why not just get a Abanaki Tube Skimmer

Actually, I was trying to remember who made those yesterday for one of our Okumas. Thank you, you saved me the it's on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember for the next two days.:cheers:

You can use the belt type skimmer by removing the float & level indicator at the rear of the sump. (Presuming the VM10 is the same as my VM1) Don't forget to add an aerator, decent size aquarium pump and a good bubble stone, plastic or brass is ideal, the coolant will soften the gray molded stones.
