Transfer program from PC to OT control
On control edit - program - input
you will see LSK on control
send prog from PC
Transfer program from OT control to PC
get PC ready
On control edit - program - progam number (example O0001) - output start
hope this helps

Hi Les,
I can send from OT to PC, no problem, just like you described. I've tried receiving programs from PC and I do get the LSK on the control but I get the 086 error. I don't know if I have tried it when in Edit - Program tho. That would put the current program on the screen correct? And the Input would over write the current program? I have tried it in Edit - Program - Program. Let me give it a try,
Thanks,
H
086 error means the DR signal is turned off.
Check your external RS232 cable pinout (look on my website in FAQ - url below)
There should not be any connection to pins 6, 8 and 20 other than links at the control end (25 pin D type).
I seem to recall a problem like this year ago because the PC was pulling down the DR signal when sending to the machine
The other possiblity would be a faulty serial port on the control
Hope this helps

I'm using the same cable from the PC to an A/B box that goes to my Heidenhain TNC145 and the Fanuc OT. Let me check that out. I down loads just fine, but I'll check it out.
Thanks Les!

Thanks Les, I checked your cable on the FAQ and my cable does not have pin 8 jumped with pins 6 and 20. I also have my pins 2 & 3 crossed. I tried uploading again using Edit - Program - Program - Input and I do not get the 086 alarm, the LSK blinks and the PC says Sending, but no bytes ever transfer, it just sits there. I'm going to make up a cable and see what happens. I don't know why I can down load tho?
Thanks,
H
Got it, made up a new cable and works fine. Thanks for all the help!
you might want to check your parameter setings on your 0 T control
Thanks guys. I did not have the 8 pin jumped with the 6 and 20. I jumped the 8 and it works fine. I've got it on an AB box and the "new" cable also works with my TNC145
