First of all do proper grounding. Unscrew any screw from laser body and with sandpaper remove paint absolutely. Buy copper wire and connect this screw to grounding contour.

Change USB cable, delete and install printer once more. What is your OS?

    1) How often this happened
    2) When you got this laser? If within last two months - check PM in 30 min
    3) May be you can reload firmware?

This problem is unusual for Mercury
