    Power Supply Failure???

I was cutting out some parts and the machine shut down due to an error. The error reads,"Malfunction in the power supply for the control system causing the realtime processor to reset and restart." I restarted the machine and it lasted a couple minutes before it shut down again. I've bought a new Startech PS2POWER230 Power Supply. I haven't installed it yet. I'm just wondering if anything else that could cause this type of failure.

    Thank you

With switching supplies it can be unpredictable. Often just a component failure in the supply itself.
If it is a standard PS like the Startech, you could try it on another system if necessary.
That one is only 230watts so you may want to look at a 450-500 for maybe a bit more durability.

    psu fail

    Hello
NO. the alert is only for the a2100 power supply. is the new one an AT psu or an ATX? If its an ATX then you will need an adaptor for it.

I installed the new power supply and it worked without any problems. I now have a problem with my tool probe (Renishaw model TS27R). When I when to do a tool measurement the spindle didn't stop and snapped the arm off. I hit the emergency stop before any more damage occured. I had just before entered the wrong tool (spindle probe) for a edge finder. Would this of caused the malfunction??? Or has one of the trigger wires lost continuity with me installing the new power supply? Thanks again for your input.
