    What is this thing?

    It appears to be a stepper drive controller and movement can be controlled either by simple PB pulse or a 5v step dir input.
    At least that's what I see (two control modes!).
    You should be able to use a PWG input to manually control it?

    Ah! I think this is what I was looking for with regards to having a "stepper powerfeed" type setup in my earlier post. Do you think it would work?

    It appears to me that would work.
    Either a 100p/rev encoder or a S.H. Pulse Wheel should offer manual operation.
