We are gettting X and Y axis 410 servo alarms during cuts. Seems to happen when load meter hits around 30% on the spindle. Just before the alarm comes up there is a loud squeal like its trying to force the the axis to move. Any help or suggestions as to what may be causing this, or a solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few things to check. Make sure the waylube pump is operating properly. Next check your x axis way covers are not binding up. What type of tooldoes this happen with. High spindle loads put a big load on the axis motors. At times the amplifiers are actually working in reverse as the have to resist the load the cutting tool is generating. Can't think of anything that would cause a squeeling sound. Could be a loose coupling between the Motor and ballscrew. I would suggest you pull the way cover off the right side of the table, then jog the x axis untill you can put your hand on the ballscrew. Then hit emergency stop. With your hand on the ballscrew you should be able to rotate the ball screw with very little effort. For the Y axis jog the y in the plus direction. Climb in the encloser, pull the telescoping ball screw cover back and rotate the y ballscrew with the emergency stop pushed. Think the problem may be a bad ballscrew. Good luck
