Hi All,
Just got my upgrade 100 watt tube and power supply, from Coletech but the power supply is not working.
Can you run a 100 watt tube from a 60 watt power supply without doing any damage to the tube ?.
Cheers
Pete

Pete,
You won't damage the tube by trying but it is doubtful that the 60W psu has a high enough striking voltage for the longer 100W tube so it just may not work.
Tweakie.
CNC is only limited by our imagination.
Check the fuse in your new power supply , it might just be that that is blown.
Thanks for the reply's, checked the fuse and it is OK.

The PSU may not be wired correctly, depending on your model the interlock and/or laser enable circuits need to be grounded or held at correct input.
Zax.
Wired as per these instructions.

HELLO
ABOUT USING A 40W TUBE ON A 50W MACHINE?
40 W TUBES ARE CONSIDERABLE CHEAPER THAN 50W
You will find that some laser tubes that have a SEPERATE exciter / RF unit must be tuned (or matched) to each-other. Connecting un-matched RF unit and CO2 tube can damage the tube.
If it is all one unit (RF and CO2 tube in the one package) usually it is only power supplies / mainboard / firmware required to upgrade. But it is very messy and you'll probably struggle with it. Trade in your old laser on a new one - my advice!
