Unhappy torchmate 501a sg cuts out

I am using a Longevity 60Igt plasma cutter and when it fires the torch it keeps kicking out the signal gen and the torchmate software will not respond.
I used a hyertherm 600and it works fine. Does anyone out there have a unit
running a longevity cutter. Torchmate guys are also baffled. HELP

The Torchmate guys should be able to help you out. Sounds like you are now running a high frequency start plasma (the Hypertherm powermax's are blowback, non high frequency start). You will need a ground rod.....shileded cables, and a UPS (uninteruptible power supply) as well as careful routing of the torch leads to minimize RF noise (high frequency) that is affecting the sensitive electronics. There are a few people running thes types of plasma on Torchmate machines....although it is much easier, and generally lest costly and complex to simply use the Hypertherm!
