    file extension not being recognized

I am stumped here. I have a Mini Mill and just began using MasterCam. When I save my post to my floppy the control isnt recognizing the .nc format, which is what the machine definition says Haas uses. I get "File Not Found" If I hit f4 and check O08999 they are there but everything looks like this-
    (TEST NC 352310 7-04-11 13:16)
    (o00009 NC 352309 7-04-11 13:22)
Before now I have been keeping an old file on the floppy and just hitting all and clicking on the old file that is recognized by the control to get the extension right for the new one. It doesnt show me the extension though and I would really like to know what format I should be using. Any help would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Rodney

First, make sure that the small o is correctly typed as an upper case O.

Do not put the program number within the parenthesis. The file name should be within parenthesis.

If the file is called O00009.nc, your machine should see it. (Also working from memory here as I quit using floppies a long time ago.)

But the file can have any (8 CHARACTER) name, with an .nc extension, so long as the first line is a % sign and the next line has the program number in proper format:
    %
    O00009 (TEST)
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

Thanks for the response. I was thinking it should work too. Thats one of the wierd things. Top of post looks like this before being saved.
    %
    O00009 (TEST)
When i generate a list with f4 everything is in parentheses. If when saving to floppy I click on an old file and replace it it does fine so for now I will just keep doing that until I find a setting or something thats not right.

Well I just figured out if I dont click "save as" and just click the floppy symbol at the top of the page it doesnt put the .nc after the name and it works just fine. Over thinking MC got me again.
