I took a look at my lathe (Puma 200) and saw that the upper Z axis rail seems to be getting less oil than other rails. The upper rail typically has a light film evenly spread on all of the sides, but it seems a little light compared to the lower rail which has a visible buildup of goo.
Is it typical for Puma lathes to have a light film on the upper Z rail?
I disconnected some of the lubrication lines to see if lube is coming out, and I get about a drop of oil with each hit on the lubricant pump cycle. I note that there are dosing doodads on each line which look like they're designed to push about a drop per cycle.
I'm not sure if anything is wrong. I'm just used to seeing a heavy coating on my VMC ways. I can't tell if the lower rail is more gooey because it's oriented in a way which accumulates more oil rather than it getting a heavier distribution per shot.
