    Steppers

    Hello!

Would the biggest steppers on this page be suitable for a benchtop machine like Optimum BF20 Vario? Is the controllers usable?

You definatly dont need the biggest steppers! The £30 or £40 ones would be ideal. The bigest steppers would probably swing you around.

The best choice would be the 220 Ncm motor. Anything smaller and you might lose steps, and the larger motor would look mighty odd on a machine that size.

Okay! But will it be enough at "higher" speeds?

    Hi there,

I've seen those big motors in real life, and they are BIG. The 220Ncm motors would probably do. I've got the 180Ncm motors on my Micro Mill, which are running lower than their rated current and it is still probably a bit over powered. The quality of these motors seems to be very good.

    Regards

    Have a nice day...
