    Need Some Advice

Our machine shop is wanting to move on from manual gcode programming with EditCNC to something much better using cam software.

We have 6 CNC Lathes and 5 CNC Mills (mix of femco and hitachi seiki ) and I need some advice on where I should get started. I am not a machinist myself I work in the IT department but I was told to look for a solution for our cnc machinist and programmer.

    Thanks

I highly recommend looking at Dolphin CAD/CAM. They have a CAD package, Mill package, and Lathe package all together. It's done wonders for my small shop. Their are a bunch out there but definitely give Dolphin a whirl.

If you guys are using solidworks or inventor for your design i would look into solidcam, InventorCam for programing your cnc's. very easy software to learn.
