How do you machine a pocket with 1 or 2 edges open in bobcad v23?
I have played around an the best I can come up with is extending the part geometry by the diameter of the cutter at the openings

Why dont you use line join to close the geometry temporarily.
Posting your file should bring more solutions.

Currently extending the part is correct , it is the only way.

For those of you that have read this thread and are wanting to know how to machine an open pocket I have found an easy solution.
After a bit of web searching and watching the training video's I found the easiest way to do open pockets is with High Speed Milling. Just change the open side's of the pocket to a dashed line and Bobcad will automatically know that this is an open edge and the tool can pass through the dashed line.
Very cool it works well.

High speed pocketing,which I believe is not offered anymore.But yes,that is the best way to do open pocketing if you have that option.
