Rhino 3D evaluation & tutorial questions

How does the evaluation work? It says you can save 25 times. What is considered saving? Is opening and closing the program a "save"? I would like to run the tutorial, but don't want to blow through all 25 uses before I've actually learning anything.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Also, I'm considering using Deskproto with Rhino (should complete my 4th axis pretty soon), any thoughts on Deskproto?

    Thanks again

    Saving.
File > Save or File >Save As

    Or clicking the Save icon.

Thanks Gerry. I was burned by an "eval" software a while ago so I'm leery.

I've had the eval loaded for a year or so. I used my saves sparingly and had 21 left. The other day, my version went into expired mode for no apparent reason... I can still use and evaluate it, but cant save any models I do if the need was there..

It will count exports as saves, too.

So it's based on saves, exports and time. Anything else?

    Thanks

[No, it will allow ample time to work through the tutorials, although apparently it doesn't last forever.]

[It's a really good program for utilizing the 4th axis; it's quite fast at generating code and offers several toolpathing strategies: along X (moving in Z and incrementing in A) along Y (moving in Z and incrementing in X) and N-sided indexing - treating each position of the A axis as a separate 3-axis situation. If you've got a mill to try it out on, go ahead, download it and give it a whirl. It doesn't care how many times you save or post code, but it will expire in a month.]

That website is great, thank you.

And, thank you Andrew, it's always nice to have company people on the site.
