    Mastercam X3 default material

I thought there was a place where I could set the default material but I can't find it...currently the material default is 2024 Alum and I want 6061...

At tool settings, u can see material selection at bottom~

    select "Select" button

then ,at bottom u can see "source"

Select "Milll current" and " mill library" option

    Choice "mill Library"

Select material u want or select just Alum 6061

In the op manager, under the machine setup --> "Files" --> Operation defaults Options (RH ! mark near the bottom) opens the defaults page with your initial op settings

go into it and open the "Tool settings" tab, Materials, Edit --> set your defaut, and accept the changes when backing out

You can pre-set a lot of things here for all your different ops as well

Jeesus Superman! That option was five layers deep. That's the one thing about MasterCam, you need to dig down WAY too deep in order to do some of the most basic things.

I vote you have your name changed to SuperDuperMan. You sure know your MC.

I directed you the fault free way to do it ( see #3/ )

The really simple way is to
1/ rename that .OPS file to .MCX-->
2/ open it in mastercam -->
3/ edit the Ops in the op manager -->
4/ save and then rename it back to .OPS

Problem is that many people have only one .OPS file...but some may have multiples (ie for different machine capabilities, DOCs, stepovers, blah, blah )

    ----oops,
I think I just opened up a series of possibilities for a lot of people with that last comment

    Cheers
