How do you make a narrow bend on a brake ?

I need some narrow steel channels, approx 1/2" high x 1/8" wide and 24" long, 18 GA. I haven't been able to find anything close on the commercial market so I'll have to make them. I have a box brake but don't know enough to make them.

Any tips on how to get a narrow bend like that ????

    Thanks,

    Willy

You can bend the 18ga in the center and fold the piece as far as the arm will go,app. 135 degs. . Open it back up, insert a 1/8" steel rod or flat bar inside the bend and put back into the brake and close. It wont give you the best looking part but it will work. If you just want a part to cover an edge you could buy some aluminum mirror trim or C-Trim lock such as ...............http://www.glassdistributorsinc.com/...-1-8-j-channel.
