    Question the cut area?

hello, i am planning on building a cnc machine and would like to know
what determines the size of the cut area, software or machine?
for example the hobbycnc router has a cut area of 9"x24"x1" could you
make a larger cutting area if it were a sturdier machine?

    Thanks scott

The cutting area is usually the actual area the machine is capable of cutting. It has nothing to do with software. I believe the HobbyCNC web site says that their router can not be made bigger. For a larger cutting area, you'll need to use a different design.
