    TNC screen / tube replacement

    Bridgeport Interact 720 VMC
    Heidenhain TNC 2500 control
    Fanuc drives (red cap motors)

I think my screen is going out, it's been getting really bright on the right hand side when I first turn it on, more than it usually does. When I turn down the dimmer all the way it is also very bright on the right hand side and black on the left. It's also been showing squiggly / jittery text when the machine is first powered up. Once it warms up it is ok (like in the pic), and I can adjust the brightness to get it clear.

Has anyone found a replacement tube that will work, or tried installing an LCD screen? I have 2 ancient laptops that would be perfect donors if it's possible. I remember reading a thread about this awhile back but cannot find it. Thanks guys

FLjoyride Hello, I have two Interact 412 with Heidenhain TNC 151, one monitor stopped working and could not be repaired and put one video converter of Chinese origin and a lcd with this solves the problem. This converter has outputs for VGA monitor and you can even put any TV with RCA connections. is the make and model GBS8219 Gombes, I hope my experience will serve you.

Search this company's website, I know they have one that will work with your machine because I have seen them on ebay.

I have a Bridgeport 412 that the screen has been doing the same thing as your for over 10 years now. It just has to warm up.

Keep your eyes out on Ebay, I see the monitors for sale once in a while.

OK, I'll just wait for it to go out completely I guess. Thanks for the replies I'll keep in mind the LCD option as well.

These images are from time proved the lcd, there is also an option in Europe to a company called "tsubis" but it was wasteful but is much simpler to replace.

Gus, I was just showing him a seller on ebay that sells replacement monitors. They make them for the Heidenhain monitors.
