About the Organization

The company presently consists of 11,500 square feet machine and fabricating shop and 1000 square feet for office, engineering and support services.

Our machine shop is equipped with nine CNC Lathes capable of turning up to 3” diameter bar stock and chuck work up to 10 inches and four CNC Vertical Machining Centers, all with 4th Axis attachment.

To complete our machine shop we have a Manual Bridgeport Mill, Kitagawa & Hardinge Lathes, Punch Press, Electrolytic and Brown & Sharpe grinders, Tig Mig & Electric welding and a host of other support machines.

CNC Fabricating shop is equipped with 12 foot brake, and sheer, strip pit punching machine, iron worker, host of saws as well as top of the line Mig, Tig and Electric welders, specializing in stainless steel and aluminum welding. Our machine building, conveyor systems, dock, lift and specialized fabricating work are enhanced by our CNC Machine Shop.

Our shops are capable of working with a variety of material such as aluminum, various grades of steel, stainless steel, tool steel and plastics.

About the Opportunity

Due to growth, the company is seeking CNC Operators (Lathe Set-Up and Operator; Vertical Machining Center Set - Up and Operator) who will play an essential role in the organization by increasing the efficiency of the shop.

In addition to liaising daily with shop co-workers and other staff, key responsibilities will include:

* Setting up and operating machines;
* Performing production runs to cut components and set up machines;
* G Code programming;
* Keeping work area clean;
* Heavy lifting; and
* Recording materials used from inventory.

The ideal candidate will be have at least 3 years proven set-up experience. MasterCam experience is highly desirable.

To succeed in this role, it is important that you are able to visualize finished products from drawings and blueprints, and that you have exceptional hand-eye coordination. You must be able to supply your own CSA approved footwear, and be able to meet the tight deadlines of the shop.

Also, you will need to be familiar with the hazards and safety requirements as outlined in the Orientation Handbook. The perfect candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills who prides themselves on working in a safe manner while producing high-quality products for our customers.
