I was wondering if this motor (pdf attached) is compatable with the 992h and the 2030 I would rather use the 2030 but as they have such a long lead time will probaly use the 992h.

as no one is answering my email I am hoping Tom would chime in!

It took about 5 days for Vlad to get back to me when I asked the same question. He said he needed to see the specs. Hopefully you sent them to him?

I didnt send the specs on the first email but I sent them this morning.

I think I will probably buy the 992h to test it anyway. because I think it will work.

Rutex realy needs to get an update on thier web sight it is kind of lame. Products are great though! But it would realy be nice to have good documentation especialy when I will be hooking the 2010 up soon on another project.

i realy don't think there would be a problem do to the fact that the rutex drives says it uses hall inputs and the encoder has the inputs and the motor is your typical 3 phase AC(dc is interchangable for the most part) brushless motor. and the bridge can handle 34amps cont. drive is rated for 20 amps 100v.

the only thing I can see being a problem is the 100v limit (which is what the motor is rated for). There was another thread about the geckos not running at the max level do to problems with BEMF and voltage spikes and whatnot. I would assume that the rutex drives would have similar problems running at max voltage as well. But I don't know.

One would hope that the rating is a usuable number. personaly I believe if you state something should be run at 80% of rating then you overrated your product by 20%.

$40 dollars is a great deal considering the motor listes for 1295.00 ea

They appear to be outstanding motors. For the next router I plan on building, I was going to be using good quality 400 oz-in steppers and Geckos, which gets close to $300 per axis. If there was a $150 drive available for those motors, I'd buy a LOT of them.

well the rutex ones I am almost certain it will work are still 198.00ea so if your looking for 150.00 your out!

I email him on a product exchange and he was on top of it, but when I emailed him about the servos nothing! (granted its probably a fairly ignorant question, But if its a yes I am going to buy 4 drivers and a MB, relay board. so its not like its wasted time.

Gentlemen,

I am sorry it has taken so long to get to these posts. I'm putting a whole new heating system in my house, and doing a lot of Rutex support while waiting for the R2000 series documentation to get done.

Anyhow, yesterday, I purchased one of the 1000 watt and one of the 400 watt motors being sold at the surplus center, and want to look them over for myself. There are several of encoder/commutator options available that should work. We need to find out how many poles the motors have and what shaft size the encoder shaft is. I should have the motors by the end of the week.

The R992H drives do have the 100 volt limit. Anyone sizing motors should carefully read the Motor and drive matching document that is downloadable from the Rutex.com web site under products, 2000 series. It will serve for any of these pwm servo drives that are serving the mach2 users.

Anyhow, this is where I am with the surplus ctr brushless motors. Now I will watch to see if anyone else has more info to post on them. I fell behind on answering emails over the week end. You have to know the number of poles before you can spec. out a commutator.

Well i just grabbed 3 of them for my mill project
I already have a full setup of 850oz/in steppers - Compumotor S6 drives for the machine; but for $40 each it was just to good a deal to miss

Maybe 2030 drives with MB will be my next buy; we'll see what Tom says about the servos; still I have some Copley amps already too with 10amps
