Too funny. I made parts for that spindle...but I don't know about its operation.

Excellon was started by 3 guys in a little shop in North Hollywood, next door to my dad's shop, on Cleon. We made parts for them even after they'd moved to Torrance and sold the company. I see they're still around!

Excellon Automation Co. - Leading Manufacturer of PCB Drills&Routers

There's lots of 3rd party companies supporting their older equipment.

We happen to have one of those machines (nice machines, love the granite table, 5 Head, 60K spindles), but we don't have the 100K spindles.

Call these guys (Mario I think his name is). DLM Technology (847) 352-1210.

Which machine do you have? What exactly are you trying to do?

    Thanks.

Make sure you have a good supply of clean air. My guess is that it is an air bearing spindle. If you run it without air you will trash the bearings.

    Hi,
I repair these kinds of spindles. It needs clean air of 80psi for the bearings , and a frequency converter to drive. We use Sieb&Meyer FC80. Once it is driven, it also needs cooling. For tool change, again a pressure of 80psi is needed.
    I hope it helps.
