    Wing cutter in the Netherlands

    Hi,

I've built a CNC wood mill once, but it has been dismantled after proving too big for the shed in the new house... I still have the computer, drivers, power supply, motors, etc. I've even bought a 4th motor recently, because I would like to build a foam wing cutter. I am going to build something like the Dray Construction Plans, scaling them to my own prefered dimensions. I have some questions:
    1) Is cutting a 1,3 meter wing in one piece too big?
    2) If it is not, does it require a lot of wire tension?
    3) If so, how much?

I still have Mach3 on an old PC in the shed, I hope that will do the trick. What software do I need to create a cuttable file from DWG / DXF files?

    Thanks,

    Hugo

I have built a 2x1x1 meter foam cutter and it works perfectly, it cuts the 2 m wide side of foam in one pass at a lover speed, around 30 cm/m depending on the type of foam but i have learned that i needed a thicker wire, i think about 0.8mm dia. since the thinner wire was cutting at half that speed.
Will post pictures as soon as i can take them, i don't have a single picture of it because the camera on my nokia N900 is very bad at anything short of a blazing sun for light.
