Explorer II / DX32 BMDC failures

I'm looking at buying a 3rd BMDC in less than 2 years.
    (c prompt at "executive load").

After some searching I went through all the checks mentioned in various threads on here and went through the same process with EMI. EMI determined it more than likely is a bad BMDC.
Is there a reason why these boards go bad and why so often? Anyone have one last a long time?

You did clean the edge connector with a soft eraser? Try a different ISA slot? Run the B3T test?

I do not have a B3T program that I can find.

Did a scandisk and defrag. No bad sectors or clusters.
    Reinstalled o/s and dx32 software.
Checked powersupply voltage on startup and when running.
    Checked and reseated all connectors.
Cleaned BMDC edge connector with eraser.
    Changed ISA slot for BMDC.
    Changed ISA slot for MB.
Started without each Bob card connected individually to BMDC (EMI).
Started without both Bob cards connected to BMDC (EMI).

Machine was running in the morning. Turned off machine, did belt tension adjustment and checked/cleaned Z axis servo brushes. Restarted machine and have been getting c prompt @ executive load ever since.

Ordered another BMDC card. Going to add a line conditioner for PS in case of any power issues.

The B3T.exe is a test of the BMDC board. It identifies more specifically what the issue is with a BMDC. For a service tech, it verifies what is already known, that it needs to be replaced. Look in your hard drive. It might be there.

    Thanks for your help George.
Unfortunately I'm not able to find that program on my machines HD.

It would be nice to have a place we could put files so anyone who needed
them could download them from there.
I will check and see if this is possible from my website.

Re: Explorer II / DX32 BMDC failures

Just to follow up on this. Ended up replacing the board and put a power conditioner on the PC side of things and haven't had an issue since (knock on wood).
I find it interesting that the place that repairs/sells the BMDC boards does not suggest using a power conditioner.
