Fanuc 0-M wont change tools (1989 Cincinnati Sabre)

I posted this in the Cinci forum, but may have better luck here?:

I've just aquired a Sabre 750 w/Fanuc 0-M and am having some trouble with the toolchanges. Previous owner thought the TC was broken, but I can jog it fine to the spindle and index to a new position etc. Problem is when I try a M06 command either in a program or MDI, I get alarm #59 or #78. It seems like the macro program for toolchange is missing? I'm fairly new to Fanuc, from what I've read on CNC Zone their should be a program in the O9000 range that is the macro for toolchanging but I cannot seem to find anything like that on the control.

I read about some of the toolchange macro M-codes (M19 - M25ish) and the only one that works in MDI is M19.

Currently when I look in the list of programs there are no programs in the O9000 + range.

I have a feeling I may need to find a macro program from a similar machine?

I am a little lost at the moment so any help or ideas appreciated. Thanks!

You should be able to MDI a G90G28Z0; to send the Z up for a tool change. Then a M19 for spindle orientation. Call up a tool number and a M6 command.
I swear that I wasn't bidding on that nasty old CNC... I was only swatting flies.
