I've recently puchased some Schunk two jaw chucks that arrived with a white lithium grease. We currently use a red lithium grease on our old chucks. Does anybody know what the difference is and is one better than the other?

the white lithium grease we use is food grade. dont know much about yours tho....
I was curious so I started googling around a bit. Red might be more viscous from what I can tell. Both red and white can be or not be food grade.
Considering how many chucks I have seen run with no grease at all, any kind of grease is a good thing. Even hog lard if you have some.
White lithium is used extensively in automotive applications, I just did a number on my ISS shaft, (intermediate Steering shaft) that was syringe of white lithium.
Also in spray can for door hinges etc.
It also apparently is moisture/water repellant.
