Hello
I have a doubt about how connect a AC Relay for start an AC Motor. (I don’t want burn CNC controller-relay or Parallel port of my PC). I want to start-stop a 115 VAC/ 1Amp Universal Motor.
I have a CRYDOM EZ240D18 AC RELAY capable to drive an 18Amp motor, activate for a signal of 3-15Vdc / 125mA.
I read a lot about ways of connect this device, some of this tells about connect directly one selected Output pin of PP (1,14,16,17) to (+) connector and GROUND Pin (25) to (-) connector in Relay and it will be enough to start the AC device. (Tom Benedicts)
Other texts talks about use +5VDC source and use some resistors, using also some of Output pins of PP in combination.
Also I have a doubt if PP if capable of generate 125mA of current for activate DC Relay,
At the end, I have a lot of doubt, because and don’t know what kind of connection select.
I attach two different options of connection, in Option 1 is used one output pin and ground, in Option 2 are used one output pin to (–) connector and +5VDC source to (+) conector, using a 2.2K resistor. (Ground is not used). This is some confusing for me.
I will thanks some help about this,
Regard
Rene
