We have our Haas mills hooked up to our network so we can easily see the hardrive on each machine, but it seems like there must be a way to monitor the machine through the network as well....mainly to check for errors and make sure the machine is still running. It seems there are also some people out there setting up apps to email alerts for things like machine errors.

Any one have any any ideas or experience with this sort of thing?

I have done this on a Fagor control. You have to write a macro that will output a file onto the drive (as amend, not overwrite) periodically and the macro will have to be executed as part of each part program run.
