    RO DI Water with Coolant

    Hi All,

Does or has anyone used RODI water with their coolant?

I have a small unit which I use for a fish aquarium and thought that it may be worth using it due to the lack of salts and solid impurities in the water it produces ... or is this just a waste of time ??

    Thanks ... Paul

Using either will definitely increase coolant life.

I have a 120 gal/day unit installed and it is used exclusively for coolant. You may be able to get by with a small RO system if the demand is not high. Just get a decent holding tank, atmospheric works better, to store enough to be useable when you need it.

Mines a 100 gallon/400 litres per day @50 psi combined RODI unit, so I will put it to good use.

    Thanks.

Interesting... I have a large RO/DI for an aquarium as well and I was wondering the same thing.

I ended up going with tap water for the first fill.

Does anyone know of a good discussion or article about coolant maintenance?
