    back button on explorer

Hi I have a goofy computer question.
I am running XP and windows explorer, I made the mistake of letting my little guy play on the computer and now my "back" button in internet explorer wont work, instead i get a new window everytime I click on a link or web site. I also noticed that my scrolling wheel on my mouse does not function.

can anyone tell me if there is a setting that got turned off or deleted?
    Many thanks

    Internet Explorer

this is quite a common question, by default IE reuses browser windows so when you click links they open in the same window and hence creates history which is where the back button come into it. Under Tools | Internet Options | Advanced, in the Browsing sections there is a check box called 'Reuse windows for launching shortcuts' this is checked by default, my guess is you won't find it checked. Simply check the box and apply or you could click ' Restore Defaults' which should get your mouse wheel working again.

Thanks, I took your advice and clicked on restore defaults, and now everything is working.

    Thanks again.
