Small Hardened Steel Parts (Rockwell 68)

I am looking for someone that can produce somewhere between 100-1000 of small steel parts similar to photo. Final spec being finalized now. Please let me know if you can help out by emailing me at [email protected].

    Thanks! Rus

    Materials

Will we need to supply the materials? Or is that something you will be able to supply to us? Thanks

I'm hoping to get a quote with materials sourced by whoever does the work. Thanks, Rus

Tolerances? Do parts need to be heat treated to RHC68 or are you doing that? Do your parts require precision grinding? D-2 tool steel, 410 ss, or what? Do you have a CAD file?
I really hate it when I have to ask...

Yea, I'm sorry you have to ask too, but I'm not sure what to say until the questions get asked. Anyway, I'm thinking +/- 0.002" for tolerance, and I'd like to get a quote on the entire package, parts+materials+heat treating. Right now I'm using S-7 in mating parts, so D-2 tool steel should be fine, as long as it can be heat treated to RHC68. No need for stainless.

I will have cad files in a day or 2, and would like to have the work done by year's end or sooner.

Lastly, I'll need to have the mating parts made, and will post them soon.

S-7 is not able to be hardened to RHC68...

Max hardness of S-7 is RHC64. Although for a application such as yours with high impact and shock, S-7 sounds like the way to go.
