    layers in a drawing

i am trying to cut some airplane parts in liteply i would like to be able to position the smaller parts inside the larger parts and be able to specify these to be cut first but i havent been able to figure out how to use the layer function to allow me to put these smaller parts on another layer so that i can specify them too be cut first when i convert the drawing to g-code with ace converter can someone give me some advise as to how to do this
thanks for any help you can give me

Most CAD programs will let you select an object, pull up it's properties, and change the layer there. Or select the object, and just choose a new layer and it will switch. Or if neither of those work, change the layer before you draw them.

Did you figure this out. I had to do something similiar this morning.

In Ace, you can set priorities for each for each of the layers. I think it is a right click on the layer. Set the small part to priorty 1 and the large part to priorty 2. The g code should then be sequenced. I usually have to edit the code to make it do exactly what I want.
