    Help Identifying Taper

I just bought a used knee mill and it came with some tooling. The mill has a spindle that uses R-8 tooling, but this Enco facing/boring head was also included. I have never seen this type of adapter. Can anyone help me out here? I haven't tried removing the taper yet...maybe I can replace it with an R-8.

    Thanks for any help, Daryl

Looks like what is left of an NT30 adapter after some on has turned most of it down to form a parallel shank.
Only OK for very light work now. Replace with adapter to suit your machine, or hold in a collet.

Good call Neil, I believe you are correct. I didn't even notice that it had been turned down. It fits nicely in a 3/4" collet. Thanks for the help. Daryl
