Is a 5" vise too big for a G0619 mill?

When I ordered my G0619 mill recently, I also ordered a G7154 5" Milling vise. I wasn't really paying attention to the overall size of the vise. It (barely) fits on the table and it is rather tall with the swivel base on it. A friend pointed out that I could remove the swivel base and only use it when I need it. He also pointed out that mass is my friend here. Shipping it back will cost me roughly the difference in price between this one and the 4" vise.

So.... Is the 5" vise too big for the G0619 mill?

    Thanks

    Neil

No it is what I have on my X3. Take the swivel off and use it that way.

I use a 5" on mine without the base. My vise slots aligned fine with the table slot and I still had some clearance between the vise and column.
