    RS232 communication

We have many older Hurco machines both Max 2 and Max 3 era. We have lost the disk drives on a couple of the older Max 2's and are finding it harder and harder to find replacements. I am wanting to use the RS232 communications to try back up the programs and was trying to use Procomm the same as I do on an older Nagitta mill. I was hoping someone could help and let me know if this could be done. I know you can use the Conversational up/down program from Hurco but I was hoping to be able to keep using the program we are currently using (Procomm) to do the same. Thanks

    Brock,

Thanks for the advise. I have gone over the procedure and notice it needs to use the HD3 Serialize utility. I tried to find this on the FAQ site with no luck. Do you have any suggestions as to where I can find it. Thanks. John

    Yes,

Send a request to [email protected] requesting the program.

Note it was only designed to run in DOS, Win3, and will run in Win Xp also.

    Re: RS232 communication

I have several machines equipped with FANUC CNC but I have one with HEIDENHAIN CNC.

With FANUC CNC I use “communication software for FANUC CNC” application that work with all windows platforms (I tried with windows XP, windows 7, and windows 10),

    I downloaded from this site:
Communication Software for FANUC CNC Download

It works well with all FANUC CNC: RS232C connection (for old CNC) and Ethernet connection (for the new ones) but I cannot get it work with HEIDENHAIN CNC.
Do you know any communication software that works with HEIDENHAIN CNC?
