I am trying to tune my plasma table. However, everytime my numbers to come out to be the correct calculation. Could someone please help.

Direct drive, No reduction.
my motors are 620 oz nema 23, 200 steps per 1 revolution
multiply 10 for micro stepping
.75 pinion gear (20 deg 20 pitch 15 teeth.75 dia)
I keep coming up with 848.824378
Really I have come up with different numbers.

on my Z axis, I have the same motor with
14 1/2 degree spur gear 24 pitch 21 teeth
0.875 Dia.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that pinion gear is 3/4" in diameter, not 3/4" in circumference? A 3/4" circumference gear with 15 pins would be correct for a 20-pitch rack, but its diameter would be smaller than 3/4". Could you measure it and get back to us? If you're talking circumference, not diameter, the calculations for your first axis are pretty simple: (200 x 10) divided by .75, which gives you 26,666.667 (micro) steps per inch, rounded off to the nearest thousandth. (I'll let you do the second problem yourself...)
