Forgive me; it's been a few years since I programmed a prototrak, and I've been asked to step in for a while (our regular programmer is off getting a new lung - seriously!)
We're just trying to do a plunge into a block and open up a pocket with a 1/2" endmill, but for some reason the program is coming into the control borked up... the first move is showing up as a "mill" and not a "position" move, and any line that has both "X" and "Z" moves kicks out an error... either "mills form an inclined plane" or "mills are parallel"... and it is saying "around event 2" or "around event 4" rather than identifying the exact line with the problem.
The only thing that is working is to do straight-up Z moves followed by x/y/x/y moves; any attempt to do XZ moves fails. (Yes, it is in M3 mode, not M2!)
The confounding part is that we have a host of other programs that do the same kind of cuts with no problems.
Am I missing something obvious?
