Hello all, This is my first post to this site.
I have a Chavalier cnc knee mill with anilam 3000km controller. I've had it about 12 years. My problem is with the variable head drive. It makes noise that sounds like it is sloppy in there combined with a knock. The mill functions OK, but the noise is really distracting. I was told that you have to cycle the variable speed through it ranges every time before running. I wasn't aware of this but now I do. Where exactly is the noise coming from? I was told that it could be a belt problem. The belt looks OK with very little wear. I was also told that it could be a plastic bushing or sleeve on the shaft that could be causing the noise. I've got a parts blowup of the variable speed head but cannot find any bushing listed or anything that looks like it might be the culprit. Anyone have any experience with this problem?
