Dual lead screws and motors on one axis

I have seen some images of gantry style machines that use dual lead screws to drive the gantry and a stepper motor on each one, I am wondering if I can use my setup this way and if there are any pitfalls of doing this, my stepper setup is from ebay 4 axis set up with 4 290 in/oz stepper motors with a single driver board for my first build. I intend on stepping my my game after the first build. As a mechanical engineer my first build should be a fairly nice one.

can is use the X,Y,Z axis as normal and also use the "C" as a second X or Y? I will be using Mach3.

I'll try and include a link to my driver and motor setup below.

    thank you.

Yes, you should be able to slave the "C" axis to the X or Y without any problems.

In Mach3, you just set them up as 4 motors, and check a box to slave the C to X or Y.
