    VTL Brand Suggestions Needed

We're looking for a vertical lathe with 46" or greater max turning. Live tooling is possible. Full CNC preferred, but not a requirement.

Looking to spend 350k or less. There seems to be a hole in the market, where you can either buy 24" max turning VTL for a decent price, or you can buy a 6ft max turning monster for 1.2 million. We're looking for something in the middle.

Any brands that you gents might suggest to look at?

    Thanks in advance!

The Mori Seiki NVL is in the 600k or more range, is it not?

How about a 48"CNC G&L VTL? Probably a bit pricey new but a good used one should be available.

I'm sure, if not more. The Youji should be in your price range though.

I appreciate all the responses. I'm going to look into the Youji machines. Anyone have any experience with them? Is the construction basically like a VMC with a VTL's table?

No. They are a true VTL, the one we have has the movable cross rail as well as the Z axis box ram. GIANT box ways on this thing as well. Make sure you get one with the Fanuc controller if your going this route.

The brochure showed three models. The base model has what looks to be a 5 station turret (for static tools only it looks like). The next model looks like it has milling capabilities, and the last model has c-axis control. Which one do you guys have?
