    Unhappy HOLE DRILLING (EdgeCam 2010R1)

    Hi,

Im trying to turn drill a hole on X0z0. I should specifify that im working with solid model. When i go to the operation and select hole for turning, the prompt asks me to select a point. Im lost. Although i tried to go back into the design mode and create a point at X0Z0, and back into the manufacturing, I still cant select THAT point. Your comments are more than welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

I dont have "turning" but have you checked that your sequence are set to use the same CPL as the one selected when you created the point in X0Y0
I would think that any points outside the axis center would need a driven tool.
canter drilling would not accept anything of the axis.
    just my thoughts.

If you draw a point at X0Z0 you will hit 2 entities, your Turn CPL and your point.
Use Tap key 2 switch between them so you can hit your point (Look at picture 1)

But if your using a solid model just use Feature Finder. Mark checkbox "find all holes" (Mill)
You can also select your feature if you rightclick on your hole in your feature browser. (Picture 2)

    Hi Mousongie,

Personally I don't use "Operations", the operation dialog does not have
access to all the modifiers / options, if you edit the hole cycle afterward
the operation explodes into individual instructions anyway.

for a Turn hole on center, select the drill from the toolstore
or just fill in the desired geometry for a tool.
be sure to set Axial and Tool Mode to "Fixed".

If you have a "Fixed" drill in a lathe the Hole Cycle will not
ask for a location - it can only be the center,
    - that is a glitch in the "Hole Operation"

    Hi Mousongie,

you need a newer "Adaptive" post in order to access the new features.
spindle control / coolant is now part of the tool selection.
Radius Comp is part of the profile cycle.
a lot of Menu and dialog box options are controlled by the post
    see the attached Tool Dialog.jpg
