Looking for an accurate indexer for grinding...

Hi, I am trying to find an accurate method to index a part in 90 degree increments so we can grind 4 sides square on a cnc grinder. so I need the indexer to be able to be automated somehow.

I can't seem to find anything like this other than CNC rotary tables which seem quite expensive.

I would entertain building something as well.

If anyone has experience with something like this I would like to hear your thoughts!

    Thanks

There are indexers out there that index with "M" functions, not a fourth axis. Usually, far less $$$$$$$$.

If indexing is the only automation you require, the indexing could be accomplished by a programmable controller.

This is not going to be of any help, but in my experience, the words.
    Automatic (M code activated)
Accurate (for typical grinding type work)
Can stand up to a grinding environment
    and
    Inexpensive

Have never be see in the same sentence.

The indexers I'm familiar with use a Hirth coupling to locate the position. They are quite accurate. Voith sells them. International Machine & Tool (Warwick R.I.) sold indexers, but I don't know if they're still there.
