    Press or Mill

Do you think a 12 ton press could stamp/emboss a 24 gauge zinc alloy 1 1/4 " round disk? Would I need someone to make me a coining die or would just getting it milled. The artwork is just an example and the reason I ask about the press is I do own one. I am not sure I am using the right term like coining, die, stamp or is this embossing?

You would have to mill the die set. Depends on quantities. I think 12 ton could handle it. Might have to make progressive dies.

Here is a coining press, says 30 ton for "dime and nickel size".

Type an hardness of the material will affect it but I think you are a bit optimistic at 12 ton for something 1.25" diameter.
