6" or 8" Rotary Table for 4th axis on G0704?

I'm going to be setting this machine up with several things crammed onto that little table - a Hardinge type indexer, a 4" vise, and a rotary 4th axis... I'm guessing I probably won't have room for the tool changer... Several different ops on the same set of parts, etc., etc., and I'd prefer to not change setups all the time... I think I can fit everything...

Anywho, has anyone converted the Phase II 6" or 8" tables? I think MSC has 'em on sale for another day or two...

6" would be tight, I highly doubt an 8" would fit. I would go with a 4" personally.

4" is what i use and i don't think you could use a 6" very easily.

you would loose too much in height and space on the table.

A 6 inch is a great fit for the g0704, a 4 incher looks like a toy on there.

I'm already figuring that I'm going to hang the Hardinge indexer on a plate off the right side, so that gains a little room. The 4" vise is still hyuge on the machine. I may stick the rotary on a plate too... That only gains a little room for the back portion of the gizmo, but hey...

Hoss, would the motor, etc., mount the same as with your Wholesale Tool rotary? I haven't had a chance to compare different tables...

And if anyone knows of a "recipe" for one, that'd be great...

That's pretty slick! I've got a 10" phase 2 that could use that treatment someday...

I have a Sherline 4" that I want to convert at some point. While I agree that it's a bit of a toy on this mill I like that I can plop it down next to the vice without removing it. I can also hold it in the vice if the part is not very tall.
